Good looks

Some time ago, a colleague of mine, DL, was asked a question by another colleague of mine, SK, both of whom were sitting in another cubicle just next to mine. Overheard the question, I just wondered why was the answer given that way. So, this is how the conversation went on:

DL (probably she was referring to a man in a web page): This fellow here looks gay.
SK (surprised at her judgement): Huh? How can you tell by just looking at him like that?
DL (sigh...): Haiya... See already you know la...
SK (I guess he was referring to another one): So, that guy there looks gay ar?
DL (thinking, then judging in confidence): Hmmm... That guy isn't good looking enough to look like a gay leh...

Now, having heard all that, I was thinking to myself:

"Huh? What the f**k... Is this how a person being judged to tell whether that person is gay or not?"

A new way to tell if a person is gay? So, what does "good looks" mean in this sense? And I am pretty sure all of you must have heard of this phrase before:

"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder only"

The judgement is now yours to make.

It's not good looks exactly... it's more of being well-preserved.

There's always this gay aura that all gays exude. Most girls are in tune to that frequency.

Translation for CresceNet (in Portuguese):

Oi, I found its blog for google is well interesting I liked this post. It would like to speak on the CresceNet. The CresceNet is a dialed supplier of InterNet that remunerates its users for the hardwired time. Accurately this that you read, is paying you to connect. The paid supplier 20 cents for the moment of connection dialed with local linking for more than 2100 cities of Brazil. The CresceNet has a connection accelerator, that leaves its faster connection up to 10 times. Who uses broad band can also profit, is enough to register in cadastre itself in the CresceNet and when it will be to sleep to connect for dialed, it is possible to pay the ADSL alone with the money of the dialed one. In the schedules of only minute the expense with telephone is minimum and the remuneration of the generous CresceNet. If you I to want to linkar Cresce.Net(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in its blog I would be been thankful, until more and success. If is possible add the CresceNet(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in your blogroll, I thank. Good bye friend.

But u must understand that most PLUs really take good care of their looks, hence the term metrosexual came up...but I do agree, good looks is in the eye of the beholder.

I suppose if you accept the fact that a lot of gay (scene) culture revolves around looking good rather than anything to do with intelligence or character, then it's likely that guys who want to be part of that culture will pay more attention to their appearance and personal grooming.

But actually I think it's another of those urban myths. Back when I was very young, it used to be thought that any man who liked keeping the house tidy or enjoyed cooking must be a closet homosexual. Nowadays I hear a lot of women saying, "he's so good looking he must be gay."

(Though of course with movie stars and models, chances are that the good looking successful guys are the ones who were willing to sleep their way to the top, hee.)

Not all gays are goodlooking, but most goodlooking guys are gays. Sure bet! :p

Yes, I know of that too. A lot of my PLU friends are those who love beauty.

Savante:
It depends on how people view you.

QR:
Yup, I somewhat agree with that statement. Apparently, girls seems like to to mix with gay guys.

Crescenet:
Welcome to my blog.

Coolgardy:
Yes, that's how the metrosexuality come about.

Koala:
Well, beauty can be expressed by means of showing off, but people tend to look at beauty in a positive manner, not really in a negative manner.

Hrugaar:
Yup, I agree with that. If during those olden days a man do the work of a woman, he can be thought of as gay, but yes, people nowadays tend to look at beautiful men as just simply gay! And hence they are termed metrosexual. And many more terms to come thereafter.

Deeper:
Hmmm... I agree with you on the first statement, but not on the second statement. Because, good looking guys can also be straight guys. Well, if only all gay guys are good looking and all good looking guys are gay. But that's not the case, unfortunately.

years ago when I was not sure if I was gay or not, and asked the gayexpert (the fashion queen of course). The queen ruled out my being gay saying 'Darling if you were gay - you would be in much better shape and interested in looking better'

Do you agree...?
